My son is yet to build it (will update when he has), but I wanted to make sure the presentation was understood, lest it be intended for a gift – it’s basically cleanskin packaging. A plain cardboard box which opens to a catalogue or something, on top of the plastic bags of bricks. Which is just fine for my purposes, as it’s on standby for the next lockdown/isolation, to give me a day of peace (or should I say “piece”?). But if it was intended for a birthday present, it certainly doesn’t have the wow-factor of unwrapping Lego.
UPDATE: turns out the “catalogue” is just the back cover of the instruction book, which was laid out in the same sort of easy presentation as Lego would be.
My 10yo provided the following review: “Good quality Technic bricks and the instructions are easy to follow. Only thing I didn’t like was all the bricks are in a single plastic bag, so it takes a long time to find the piece you’re looking for. They should copy Lego and have 4 or 5 bags for a kit like this”. So, perhaps be prepared to help younger kids with the searching!

+ Fits together well and looks great, motors and remote work.
+ All pieces are well made and none were missing. They even included a small numbers of spares but none were needed.
+ Manual is very easy to follow. Just look closely as some of the small pin parts are hard to tell apart. In real life and in the manual unless you have very good eyes or a magnifying glass.
