Before I purchased this I asked the question as to whether or not it worked with the iPad Air. I received three replies; one said it did, another said it didn’t and the third wasn’t sure. Having purchased and tried it I can confirm it does work with the iPad Air 2020. As for sound quality, I wouldn’t say that it’s the best in the world, very good but not excellent. I’m one of the many that can’t quite understand why a phono output isn’t supplied with the iPad anyway, but you have to buy this or a similar dongle.

Description says it works with iPad Pro. You get sound OK but there is a constant crackling and hissing from the adapter which is really annoying. I only bought it because I was buying other stuff at the same time. Looks like back to the Apple store for me.

Tested so far with iPad Air 2020 & Nokia 8.
Initially I plugged some Sennheiser IE5’s in to make sure this worked and didn’t do any damage. The silver contacts on the headphone plug did cause audio to switch off when twisting it around in the barrel. I suspect this is one of the main causes of negative reviews here. Afterwards I plugged FiiO FH5’s in with their gold plated plug and have no issue.
Sound quality is surprisingly good. Nice even levels, no “sheerness” and overall good detail. It isn’t audiophile quality because it’s £13, but it sounds at least as good as the FiiO BTR3 bluetooth amp I’ve been using so far.

I Ioved Ugreen products until now. I bought 3 of these adadters because the manufacturer and some users assured me that they would work with my earbuds. Well they don’t. In fact, they are the most incompatible adapters I’ve tried. For example, they don’t work at all with my Bose noise-cancelling earbuds when noise cancelling is turned off and make a sound like a heartbeat when noise-cancelling is on. They do work better and sound good with my AKG buds, but they aren’t compatible with track skipping or replay, which I was told they were. Both sets of earbuds work perfectly when plugged into the audio socket of my Samsung tablet, They also work as expected when plugged into the USB-C port of my Galaxy S22 phone when combined with a $10 adapter I bought at Kmart. Sadly, Kmart is out of stock.

I have purchased several of these cable adaptors now, because I needed more than one. I got them from different online sources, and they were different brands..
This Ugreen cable adaptor was the first one that arrived. It looks robust and good quality. It is, on the outside. it works.
However, when compared to another, apples with apples, The Ugreen is the more expensive item but the actual sound from the same output device is relatively inferior. A cheaper cable adaptor produces a better sound.
Maybe the cheaper one(s) won’t last as long, but the equation is simple. I’d rather buy more of the cheaper ones if I have to, because even though they may be less durable, at least when they’re being used and still working I get the better result.
Rating: It works, but I wouldn’t buy again. Ugreen are ok, but even with their different versions of essentially the same cable, I’d suggest you pay a lot more and pick the certified unit. Then at least
you’ll get the good quality.

Well since nothing comes with a headphone jack anymore, these were a great purchase.
I opted for the flexible dongle rather than the “L” shape one since itll be less wear and tear on the usbc port.
No loss in audio quality input and output.

The plug is loose and wiggly. When in pocket it will come off on its own. Even if you hold your phone in hand and slightly touch the cable it’ll get loose pretty quick and come off. It seems like it doesn’t get deep enough. The audio quality is good as expected, but unfortunately I cannot replug it every 2 minutes. I’ve used it for few days and it’s very uncomfortable with the long thick cable that would definitely struggle to bend in your pocket, especially if you use a big phone like me ( Huawei P30 Pro )
In some cases the adapter would stick out of your pocket too.
The output frequency is not as stated, you can see the screenshot above.Although you probably won’t hear the difference immediately, unless you use this adapter for a studio.
Disappointed because i really love my JBL headphones with a 3.5mm audio jack and the adapter is the only solution but I’ll have to look for something else.

I’ve had a few of these £10 dongles and was able to compare with the Vention product which uses a USB A connection. It is a fair bit smaller than the Vention and the cable is very short which makes it less bendy but it really feels really strong and bends 90degs without a problem. The USB C connection feels much more secure in my laptop than the USB A.
I had no problems with functionality on my devices – windows 10 laptop and Samsung S10 phone, sound and microphone pass through worked without any issues. Windows 10 recognised it fine and automatically set it up.
I have a few headphones and IEMs but have tested mainly with a pair of Creative Aurvana Live. These are obviously budget devices and I do not expect amazing results but in terms of sound it does have a different presentation to the Vention which is worth mentioning. It has a touch more bass and treble – a more V-shaped response – which for me was better for music. It was much closer to the sound of the headphone output of my S10 and I could not reliably tell the difference. What i can say is that it is not a massive improvement over the phone’s built in amplification but clarity was improved over the laptop’s sound.
Overall I’m very happy but after only a couple of days I can’t comment on reliability.
