These are not just for mosquitos, they kill the larvae stage when made into a tea and poured onto the surface of pots. Highly recommended!!

I bought this for “fungus gnats”, those awful critters that appear from nowhere and fly up your nose. Who knows how they got in your house, maybe they snuck in on a plant you bought at WMart and then spread to all your other indoor plants.
NO-GNAT TEA:
Cover the bottom of a plastic jug with a layer of these bits (probably a good tbsp) and pour a kettle of boiling water over them. Steep for an hour, then add water to fill the jug. Stir it around to be sure the pizen is mixed throughout the water.
When it’s time to water your plant, always use this tea, don’t use any regular water. (I like to avoid the bits, so I use a baster to squirt the tea over the plant’s soil.)
I’ve been doing this for about 4 weeks and I’m down to seeing a gnat maybe once every few days. Before, it was many gnats every day. It’s an easy routine and what a relief to not have those nasty tiny demons flying in my face. I’m hoping eventually my beautiful plants will be 100% gnat free. And I’m not buying any new house plants ever again!

I was plagued with fungus gnats for the great war of 2019/21. They were everywhere in the house, buzzing around my head at night and in the day. At a glance, it didn’t seem a big issue, but clearly, I underestimated the problem. I have a lot of house plants and thought I isolated the problem to a peace lily and aloe vera plant. In my naivety, I thought I could eradicate the problem by putting the plant in the cold, so out went the peace lily in the frost. The peace lily did not survive, but fungus gnats have natural antifreeze, so they carried on regardless.
I read that Diatomaceous Earth would solve the issue, as the larvae like moist soil. I convinced myself this worked, but the odd gnat would still do a flyby. I then moved onto sticky yellow fly paper on all the plants, and it was then I became aware of the extent of the problem. The papers became covered in hundreds of gnats. Far more than I ever could have imagined. This reduced the issue, but the papers were still accruing more bodies daily.
It was then I came across mosquito bites. It had been a long 18 months and I wasn’t hopeful. I filled a watering can at the base with the pellets, and added water as directed. It gives off a foul sewer smell, but this smell doesn’t travel, but is evident when you pour. After a couple of months of weekly watering, I noticed the reduction in gnats on the yellow paper, and this year I have yet to see a gnat. I declared the war over this summer. I have removed all the sticky yellow paper from the plant pots and have lived a gnat free existence since. The plants have thrived, I assume because the larvae are no longer eating the roots.
I can heartily recommend this. I just wish someone had told me sooner, as I lost some good plants along the way.

Really happy with those. Helped me get rid of fungus gnats in no time. They do get mouldy of you pour them straight in the pot though. I definitely recommend soaking them in water and then pour them together with it.

After bringing a new plant into our home not knowing it had fungus gnats – it soon spread to others. I tried Neem Oil, which did not work very well and stinks!
I had heard soaking these bits in warm water to make the mosquito tea to water the soil will work. I’ve watered the soil once to kill the larvae and used the sticky yellow sheets to catch the adults and the result has been outstanding, super pleased with the results and would recommend. I made my solution two heap tablespoons of bits in 2 litres of very hot water, leaving to cool before watering. This strength worked exceptionally well for me.

I have never had a problem with fungus gnats before and did research on it. Mosquito bits came highly recommended so I decided to try it out. Best solution ever. No more annoying gnats flying all over the place and no more hundreds of dead ones around the pots. Simply brilliant!!

If you have fungus gnats in your pot plants. bit add to cart and make it yours. Both my daughter and I had major issues with gnats in our indoor plants. One treatment with this and it cleaned them up in about a week. Since most gnats come from potting mix, when we repot, we water with Mosquito Bits and that stops them before they start. I cannot recommend Mosquito Bits highly enough. I even use them in my terrariums.

I had been dealing with fungus gnats for months and tried EVERYTHING… Neem oil, completely drying out soil between waterings, sticky traps, pest sprays, apple cider vinegar traps etc. but nothing seemed to work. I finally gave mosquito bits a shot and the gnats were still flying around after a month of use. I had lost all hope but then after an extra month I noticed there were significantly less gnats flying around my plants. I think the mosquito bits took a while to kick in and take full effect, but now we only have a few strays that fly around and I consistently use a pest spray for the top soil. I’m not sure if the mosquito bits were the reason for the cure, but I do think having a combination of sticky traps, drying out soil, lots of patience and the bits will do the trick. Honestly, looking back and considering how infested my plants were, I should’ve just changed out the soil completely! I would only recommend this if you have a mild-moderate infestation that can be managed. (brb going to therapy for the mental distress caused by these demons.. GNATS ARE THE BANE OF MY EXISTENCE!)

I’d been doing battle with fungus gnats on my houseplants in the living room for months, after they hitched a ride in on a new plant from the garden centre. I had the gnats on the run (sticky yellow traps) but couldn’t get rid of them completely.
I think this product finally did it. As others have said, I put some in some water and left it for a couple of days, then watered the plants. I watered all the plants in the house, not just those in the ‘infected’ room, just in case any gnats had migrated.
It’s taken a few weeks of weekly watering, but I haven’t seen a gnat in over a week now.
I’ll keep going for a bit, then will start using the bits for maybe one watering a month just in case.
This is an expensive product, but if you soak them in water (rather than sprinkling on top of soil), you hardly need to use any. My pot is pretty much full still.

I used it as instructed, soaking it for 30 minutes and then using it. It’s been 2 weeks since, and the gnat population has drastically dropped! I’ve only used it twice but will be using it once more to make sure the gnats are all gone. So glad I found this!

After trying multiple ways to eradicate a gnat infestation (Neem oil, drying out the soil between watering, terracotta water stakes) Mosquito Bits have been the only thing to work so quickly and effectively!
I followed the directions of a YouTube video I found, and allowed the granules to steep in warm water for an hour (ideally between 37°C- 43°C/ 100°F-110°F. NOT boiling as this will kill the bacteria) and then soaked the plants with the solution. Within an hour or so I noticed younger gnats coming to the surface and within 3 days the gnat infestation was gone, without any visible harm to the plants health.
While this is a more expensive product I highly recommend it because after spending smaller amounts on multiple techniques, this would be your one stop shop in getting rid of fungus gnats.
