I used this black dye on hubby’s light grey shorts. Now the shorts are dark grey only but the difference in colour is good. Not quite black.
One bottle of Rit Dye did 5 pair of Ruggers and one huge T shirt size 3X. Had to zoom in the instructions (on the bottle only) so I could follow the directions as I normally use the cold water dye. Supposed to stand there and agitate the dye bath for one hour but I was unable to do that. I Will buy this hot water dye again.

Doesn’t work on quite a number of synthetic materials. The fixer solution was useless.

First time using. Did 2 sweaters. Both turned out good but a much lighter colour. Uses more water and time then I expected. Over all will wear these much more often but was hoping for a darker.

I used this to re-dye two pairs of black jeans to try and give them more life. It worked great and they came up very black again. The colour lasted for a year before it faded out which is excellent considering I wore the jeans to work every week and washed them after every wear. I’m about to purchase this again to re-dye them.

I was a bit worried because I had read so many mix reviews, also the lack of colour swatches everywhere. Anyways, I purchase eggplant for reference. I was also worried I’d get a weird brown because the shirt was a light green but it turned out awesome!
I follow the instructions pretty closely; Salt, dish soap, 140f, 20mins of stirring. (It’s 30 but 20 it looked super dark so I figured it was fine)
It came out awesome. One issue I’m not sure how to fix in the collar where it was wrinkled it didn’t get in that area but kinda looks cool. Also maybe I added too much salt cuz the shirt was brand new but now looks like I wore it like 20 times. No biggie though
Hopes this helps!

Comes out as more of a blue/sage depending on the fabric.

Easy to use, color fades with time, but no big deal. Be careful about washing the dyed item with other stuff, I washed what I dyed completely separate for several loads before I trusted it not to mess up other clothes.
