I love the bluetooth recording of information. A bit fiddly to set up if you’re 60+ but not too bad. Excellent once it’s done!

I’ve had these scales for a little over 2 years and it’s been a hell of a ride with these things. They are super expensive for what they are and the only reason I paid so much before was that I wanted to get serious about my weight loss and get a high end tool that I could trust to help me measure accurately what was going on with my body… big mistake.
First the good thing about these scales:
1. They look good – I have had a lot of comments from guests over the last 2 years about how cool my scales look. However, while it’s nice that these things aren’t hideous, I didn’t buy the scales just so they look good.
2. It has some nice features
That’s about it! Now onto the bugs:
1. While about 70% of the time this thing is quite consistent, the other 30% of the time I’d get more accurate readings by guessing my weight. There have been mornings where I get on the scales and don’t trust what I see, so I immediately try again and get a different reading… and not by a small margin. There have literally been times when I stood on these scales 10 times in a row and got 10 different readings, all within a range of about 20lbs.
2. Wifi issues – There have always been connectivity issues with this, but for a long time I was able to make it work. However, at the start of last month it completely packed in and now it’s just an expensive glass brick on my floor. I still get weight measurements for what that’s worth, but thanks to my attempts to fix these scales by resetting them, I now only get those readings in lbs only, they continue to be inaccurate, and there are none of the other features I bought these scales for available.
3. The App – I’ve never liked the app for these scales. I think it’s unintuitive and laid out really poorly. It’s not so bad you can’t use it (hence why I’ve had the scales for 2 years) but at the same time it’s never a good experience. Also, on an android phone (can’t speak for iPhone) if you open it up, it will continue to run in the background and drain your battery if you don’t shut the app down completely.
Overall, these scales are expensive, buggy and not a good buy at all. They work just enough that I haven’t ever really considered sending them back, but now that they’ve packed in just two years after buying them I realise I really should have. I deliberately paid extra for smart features and quality, and it’s been buggy at best since I got it. There’s another set of smart scales here on amazon (uk) that has over 143,000 positive reviews that offers way more features than these scales and costs £100 less. I haven’t tried them yet, but with that many positive reviews, I’m much happier taking a risk on those than another set of scales at this price bracket.
Finally, just to show that I’m not just an odd one out here. I bought these scales based off the recommendation of a friend, and that same friend has apologised for that recommendation multiple times since because he experiences the exact same issues.

I bought these scales because my online research suggested that they were portable, and I need a set of scales to take with me on holidays. I was disappointed that they actually weigh about 7kg so are not suitable for travelling overseas.

Happy to have paid the price. Build quality and functionality far beyond my previous Withings.

Best scale ever!

After setting it up and having it talk to my phone, I assumed it was capable of uploading data to the cloud, given it connects over WiFi, not Bluetooth.
Well, nope. No idea why it needs Wifi access to be honest, because you need to be in close range with your iPhone and the app turned on to use it. There goes the convenience factor or set and forget factor if I have to a) bring my iphone with me every time I go to weigh in, and b) have to open the app, spend the time verifying it synced my weight, etc… Just awful product design, and that’s saying nothing about the interface on the device itself.
Even better is the fact that the app is abysmal; you are logged out of *the app* every 4 hours it seems, sometimes arbitrarily. WHY? Don’t hold my hand in terms of security. It’s not your responsibility – it’s on me if I leave my iPhone unlocked, or have a weak passcode. Having to re-login so frequently makes the whole experience awful.

it doesnt work. Cannot link to phone. measurement fluctuates by more than 30% everytime. It would be great to get $ back as it doesnt meet expectations.
Kindle Customer –
Perfect! Exactly what I wanted and looks so sleek in my bathroom, very heavy and great quality. The accuracy and daily information is fantastic. Highly recommend

Love the QardioBase2 Smart Scale Easy to set up and use. Weigh yourself and everything gets sent to the Qardio App on your phone. Nothing more to do. Also love the fact that it’s rechargeable – no batteries.

I am unable to get a reading of fat and muscle %. And Cardio hotline is on US West Coast time, so very inconvenient.
