When I received this pad, I wondered if the reviews that said it was too hard were right. It felt like rock. I retired from a career involving a stressful desk job and now do a physical job that often requires kneeling on a hard tiled floor to put stock away (it’s a great way to stay healthy – it’s like a gym that they pay you to work at). I. decided to try the pad before condemning it, and quickly found that that pad was perfect for the task. I found it comfortable to kneel on, especially while juggling heavy materials. I even found the handle cut out piece useful. I toss the cutout in my locker to remind me not to forget to take my pad home at the end of the day.
Yes, it feels very hard when you first pull it out of the packaging, but I have bad knees, and I found it just fine to kneel on, even with my recently rebuilt left knee. *recommended*

Overall it’s good pad. I gave it 4 stars because it seems to be too hard. I would prefer the material to be a bit softer to be more forgiving to my knees

I bought this to use while macramaing (craft) and it was amazing to be able to pin the project to the mat. The size was big enough to use on my lap and tuck it away when not working on my project.
I really liked the thickness (almost 3 inches thick) so that when I pin with pad on my lap I don’t have to worry about the pins going through the pad. Great value for this!

Not soft at all, but has the right density to support your knees properly. You don’t sink in very much, but it has the right amount of “give” to be comfortable.
