As far as I can tell, there is no way to arm or “set” the trap. It works based on the mouse’s weight and perseverance to squeeze through. Might work on mice. But definitely does not work on rats. At least not Australian rats. It might work with those scrawny American rats. 😁
But the product is well built and durable.

No more mice

Superb. Caught the entire family together. It took a few days for the mice to see it. May be we did not place it in the right area. But this trap with peanut butter and voila you got them!
Lyndel –
Laid peanut butter in base of trap
Placed trap couple inches from wall away from all corners.
Within ONE HOUR first beastie caught !
Over four hours another three in same trap ‘
Left overnight in case more mice around. BTW none escaped at all.
The only problem I had was releasing them because I couldn’t stand it if one of them touched me.
Wearing plastic gloves,
Put trap in old pillow case and fixed end with elastic band
Drove to open fields where I prepared to release them.
All good so far
Gloves on and working through pillow case opened the trap
EEEEEEEK !
Little rodent bodies heaving against fabric. Yuk
I stood way back cut the elastic band and RAN AEAY AS FAST AS U COULD
lol Terrified they would touch me
Jumped in my car and drove away.
Returned later in day. Wearing gloves and a industrial strength rubbish bag.
Pillow case empty and so was trap.
Put them both in rubbish bag including gloves tied it up and put EVERYTHING IN MY BIN at home.
Just as well I bought two.
Have to manage release better than this it’s expensive if throwing away reusable multi catch traps when mice are caught and reusable loses all meaning.
Wish you could reply to my review with suggestions. 😢🙏👍😊😅

It doesn’t work at all. The mouse had gone in. Eaten the bait. Pooped inside and gone out. I left it for a week same thing everyday.

I liked this product because I could rid my house of mice without killing them

Love it , easy to use and relocating mice alive is easy without touching them.

Easy to set up…but useless at catching anything.
Mice walk in, get the food and scurry back out! A bit pointless. 😓
