I ordered this for my housemate, he’s in his early 40s and he works in the sun for a living. I’ve noticed his skin looking more and more weathered and rough, so I saw this and was like… let’s try it! He tried it on his face and I tried it on the back of my hand. There is a slight scent but it’s not strong or overwhelming…it’s barely discernable. The cream itself isn’t really gel-like, well not like any gel product I’ve ever used, I would say it’s more like a water cream. It feels like water going on and doesn’t feel slippery like gel products I’ve used before that’s why I say it felt like a hydro cream. I was honestly surprised that it did give an immediate moisturized feeling after it was absorbed into my skin. it’s only a little over 1 and a half ounces for 22 dollars and I feel that is a bit much, especially for a male-focused moisturizer. If I can get him to use this entire jar it might be a miracle, so I think 22 dollars for a men’s moisturizer is a bit much. It’s pretty good though and I do hope he continues using the product.

I got this for my father, and also tried it out myself to get an idea of the consistency and performance. My father is horrible with skincare routines. He has incredibly dry, sensitive skin and I have been pestering him for years to use a moisturizer to alleviate the dryness and discomfort. He didn’t mind using skincare products and he certainly didn’t need a skincare brand specifically targeted to men just to consider using it (I have noticed some won’t use products that are marketed towards women or unisex, which blows my mind) – he just simply would never stick to it. He loves this moisturizer. In my experience using this, this is a very lightweight gel with fast absorption and no tacky layer. I definitely feel like it penetrates the skin rather than just sitting on top of it. I find a lot of gel moisturizers to not be nearly as hydrating as they claim, but I also have skin as dry as a desert. This is more moisturizing than others I’ve used. This would not be enough for me at all, but I like heavy oils and lotions. The product is small in size and portable. I like the matte black container with the white writing – it looks modern and somewhat expensive despite the plastic packaging. Easily a container you could reuse once the moisturizer has run out.

My father absolutely raves about this. He tends to experience a burning sensation with moisturizers, and does not experience that at all with this one. He hates when moisturizers leave a film, and he states that it does not leave a film but still leaves him with a hydrated feel – not like the moisturizer has completely absorbed and left the skin dry. He states that he only needs a tiny bit for his face and neck – closer to a pea size than the almond size recommended. I personally think the almond size is more on par for me. He states that it absorbs completely within 5 minutes (I agree) and that he feels it would last him at least 6 months (it would last me WAY less time).

Both of us agree that the price point is a bit high for 1.7 oz of product. It is on par with a lot of other skincare brands, though. For this price, I would not repurchase this. My father says that he would, even though it is priced higher than he would traditionally like to spend on a moisturizer. He made it a point to say “It is the only thing I’ll ever put on my face again”.
