The Kindle is a valuable tool for any researcher/student/writer. It’s resources, convenience and functionality are just brilliant. The Kindle enhances your reading, and helps you tap into resources/books like you could never do with printed books. Both the format and the quantity, ie the quality and quantity, of the act of reading is empowered in ways that you simply couldn’t do with the printed hard-copy books and papers. The price of books on Kindle is a bit of a disappointment (they are generally on the higher side), but the fact that you can access them instantly (it probably makes you spend more on books) is a great bonus. You also are able to store all your purchases/books in your Kindle library etc. Go for it. If you really want to read like never before in ways that you never thought you could read. Free yourself from the confines of physical books and libraries.

Already coming to bits and it’s only a month old !! Not great.

It’s nice to hold, but I’ve only had it a short while and it’s already fraying a bit on the side. I don’t think it will last as well as my previous one. It does feel nice and the texture makes it not slippery and easy to hold.

The Kindle Oasis was a terrific upgrade from my earlier Kindle 2nd Generation. A cover is always a must when traveling or using the Kindle as its supposed to be used – on the move, at the beach, in a bag etc so always, always get the cover. This one works as advertised but I can’t yet vouch for the water resistant aspect- not game to try that yet. Otherwise, all good – get one with your next Kindle Oasis

This is the first kindle I have purchased, having been reading on an iPad. I held out getting one because I didn’t think it would be very different, but it is absolutely fantastic easily as good as reading in paperback, which I would never have believed. It’s very light and easy to hold when reading for hours, again unlike an iPad and the battery lasts much longer as well. As far as criticisms go, I have two very minor ones: 1. I find the menu and home screen a little bit hard to navigate, it’s a little bit less user friendly than iPads etc. 2. The CPU speed is a little slow, so moving around the menu takes a bit more patience.
Otherwise it’s a near perfect product.
Very Happy

I’m based in Brisbane Australia and in 2009 I bought my first kindle and haven’t looked back.
My original was the keyboard model, which eventually was upgraded to a paperwhite with built in light which I’ve now given to my tween.
This was a treat to myself after a very difficult 2021. It is lightweight compared to a book, has buttons again (hooray) and is waterproof/resistant while i haven’t tested it maybe I can relax in the tub without being paranoid it’ll take a drink
Black and white, available through Amazon and in retailers in Australia.
A fire tablet is on my list but those don’t ship to Aus yet. Maybe someday…..

After buying several generic cheap cases that broke within weeks of buying it I took the plunge and bought this case. I’m so glad I did. Worth the money for the quality and protection of my kindle.

I like it because it fits like a glove to my Kindle Oasis e-reader. Also being Water-Safe is a welcome bonus. Has an affordable price tag. I use it for reading my ebook novel collection.
