Not good out of the box. Printed with vertical spaces in the text and ghosting between colour and black. Needed print head alignment (press i button and scan calibration page that prints).
Setup is a pain. You need the app of course, then it bombards you with free trials and subscriptions and ink offers over and over.
Then first time attempting to print, oh, you need to create an HP account to print on your own printer on your own damn network. There is a work around by adding it as a network printer and print direct by ignoring the app, but jeez it shouldn’t be so hard I just want to print some pages without the nonsense.
It’s also very noisy and sounds like plastic dragging on paper when it prints (yes I removed all the shipping tabs). I bought it to replace a Canon printer that no longer recognises colour cartridges, thinking maybe HP might be better, but I think the Canon was easier to setup and worked great out of the box.
EDIT UPDATE: Also cannot scan from the printer via the app. HP app say scanning is not supported by the selected printer. I should probably return this piece of junk to Amazon.

Print quality is slightly inferior to commercial printers.
But I like everything else.
It was difficult to install at first, but once installed it works fine.
The design is also pretty, so it’s a good printer to use at home.
I signed up for HP Plus Ink subscription. The ink hasn’t arrived yet, but it’s nice to be able to use infinite ink at a low price.
