This is an effective trap. It worked within 10 minutes on the afternoon I set it. I caught another mouse that night. And another in the morning after I’d released the first two. That is progress so far in my mice ridden house (- I’m also blocking holes of course0.
I made it non-lethal and even provided sunflower seeds inside the bucket. (This was in response to my 12 year old son who had made me disarm all my killing traps (which the mice were ignoring anyway.) And so we release them into the bushland about 3 kms from here. He doesn’t seem to realise they will not be likely to survive long out there with exposure and owls and snakes (and a quick death may be kinder). But ….
I spread nut butter into the top of the yellow cover ( the nose of the mouse shape) and it works well. I acclimated the mice to it by giving them a free feed with the cover baited but on the ground the first night- before adding the bucket. I also used gloves as sometimes lack of human smell helps- although those blighters are happy to interact with everything else I’ve touched.
I used a 20L Bunnings bucket. The structure is not strong but I was careful assembling it. It doesn’t fit perfectly on the bucket. I sort of forced it on in one section. So far the tongues/tabs have held. I figure I’ll use duct tape if it ever breaks. I’ve kept the whole set-up in tact for releasing the mice but when I need to clean it or if I needed to dispose of bodies, that wouldn’t work.
I paid $20! Far too much for some simple plastic parts. I was desperate enough to try it that I tried to find the best price/ review ratio. It works but I notice the price has gone down . Hopefully this review helps.

Poorly built. Very flimsy. The little ladder provided is so wonky that I can’t see any rodent making the full journey. I ended up using an old school design Rat Trap and that worked a treat.

For use on a rural property. Added a small amount of peanut butter and placed on a water filled bucket and we have success. Bucket not included and it fit easily.

I have mice, it’s true,
They stay away from this trap,
All others succeed.

Works with most buckets so you can catch a lot, just make sure you don’t leave it somewhere that water can enter the bucket. Please use this as a humane trap to catch and release rodents.

A mice was caught on the first night of installation. The instruction says to apply peanut butter on the reverse side of the flip-board. But due to the weight of the butter, the board flips inside. I used Bluetack to balance the board. My wife was kidding me this won’t work. She was proved wrong!

Worked well for catching field mice.
However, the ladder is not well built and is difficult to angle correctly. Hence, four stars.
