The family has enjoyed having these installed in each room, gives us a great way to share music, announce family activities and most of all…dance parties. Setup was fast and simple, love the feature with it coming setup with our Amazon account.

At first I was very happy with the echo dot. The installation is easy, the app very good, and the sound quality good. I was delighted with the voice recognition for things such as alarms, timers and the shopping list.
Unfortunately after a couple of weeks we started to lose the sound connection; video would be playing with no sound. Once or twice was tolerable, but each time we had to reset the Firestick and sometimes restart the whole wifi connection. In the end this was happening once or twice a day, so at that stage, with wife grumbling about it, I decided to return it.

Alexa is controlling my smart devices well. Voice recognition is very good though a bit quick to activate if you pause for even a moment in your command. I also have a Google Nest Mini and the sound from the Echo Dot is noticeably richer and better defined. I purchased because it directly supports Amazon Music while the Nest Mini does not. I prefer the voice interaction from the Google Assistant slightly more than Alexa but this is a minor issue and probably just a matter of taste. Overall a very good product.
