Excellent arrived on time exactly what I wanted easy to set up and start using –
This is my second Pixma TS 5160. No need to be retrained in its operation. .Set up was interfered with as we have other Wi-Fi printers in the study. once sorted works fine.

I already owned this printer and purchased this again for my downstairs office. I found it simple to setup. It is reliable and easy to use. The ink is not cheap, but no printer ink is. It is not as expensive as some. My 8 year old and 13 year old are able to use it easily when needing to print for school. I am very happy with these printers and would recommend.

Been almost 4 months now. Very happy with this purchase. Thought I will review it once I had used it enough – in my case that is light printing and scanning. I might have printed around 50-70 pages so far. I bought this to avoid having to go out all the way to post office or other similar shops just to do a 2-3 page print or scan for things like passports, insurance etc.
The packaging by Canon is very well done to avoid any damage to the printer during transport. The unpacking instructions are easy enough to follow. Handling the inbuilt provided ink cartridges was easy – and unlike what i expected reading all the reviews before, it has been quite good and even after the 50-70 pages I have printed so far, 50% of which would have been color, the inbuilt provided cartridges are still going strong. Looking at older reviews, I did order Canon Combo Ink Cartridges Twin Pack, Black/Multi-Colour, 28873 (PG640XLCL641XL) for 55$ AUD at the time of buying this thinking the inbuit one wouldnt last 10 pages
I have a Wireless router with both bands – 2ghz/5ghz – enabled and it was a breeze to set this up. I was able to follow the steps outlined in the setup guide perfectly without any issues – both laptop as well as mobile. On mobile its easier since the printer connects to your wifi and then is auto detected on the mobile through the Wifi Direct feature – have tested using my Android phone and no issues.
I had already bought the printing paper upfront after ordering this and used that once it was setup right away to test print. Even the color print is amazing and the paper doesnt go soggy or curl up. The interface on the printer with buttons is easy to use and no hassles. There is also a really great canon pixma app available which can be used for printing/scanning straight from your phone (unfortunately the app doesnt allow multi page scanning at the time of writing this though it works fine through the Canon software via PC). The CD-ROM available for installing desktop software for Pixma is great and auto detects the printer being available from your desktop and allows you to edit scans for eg. But you are of course free to download and install all software via internet directly especially if you dont have the CD=ROM drive in your laptop / desktop.
The copy function is good and works as expected. Scan works very well even with color scanning. One more important and really helpful feature is for scanning smaller docs like passports, the scanner already comes with a white background film on the lid which will make sure the scan comes good even if the document is smaller than the scan area.
Printing speed is alright. For any functions – print / copy / scan – it takes upto 5 secs for the printer to prime itself to be ready but its smooth after that.
2 important features – the printer in its settings has option to allow auto maintenance of the printer by cleaning its nozzles and stuff through options on the screen as well it shows the current ink levels of the cartridges
One thing to be wary of would be that it consists of a plastic parts so its lighter but also a bit of a handle-with-care product. But that also allows for its modular design wherein the printer folds up fully once you are done and you can pull out the paper tray and interface when you want to use it again.

Make sure that you have a CD slot or external CD reader, do NOT bother to search the website to upload printer to your computer as the brand number does NOT exist, I wasted two hours, one on web and another looking for CD reader. Although once CD was used it uploaded easily and has been quite easy to use and navigate. ***Also little side bar, use the following to order extra ink or you will go mad looking for ink PMSL.. I had to do a google search to see what would be suitable and this is it *** Canon Genuine Ink Cartridges PG-540/CL-541 – Pack of 2 Multi-Coloured for Selected PIXMA MX, MG and TS Series***
