Not really sure what you can say about printer ink in a review other than it worked or didn’t. Colour vibrancy is what you would expect from an inkjet printer and anyone hoping to print pictures I would suggest looks in to buying a laser jet printer. But for your standard document printing, this ink (and the printer I use) I find economical, easy to use and install on other machines (like when I have had to take the printer round a pal’s to help her print work documents), the ink cartridge fits and installs easily on my Canon MP499 and I’d happily purchase again.

This is a racket as you can hopefully witness from the pictures attached.
The cartridge lasted for 3 full colour photo A4 pages, before the colours started to fade, and ink cartridge registered as empty.
Upon accessing the cartridge via the “bore-holes” designed for refilling, i was pretty surprised to see white padding, that had not even been touched with ink. I literately stopped attempting to fill it (as you can see a wee bit of ink around the opening), to take a picture).
This is classed as an official Canon product shipped/backed by Amazon.
They are not filling these cartridges with any reasonable amount of ink, but instead seemingly filling them with the bare minimum.
There is a couple of mil headroom above the ink pad where ink could easily be filled (i refilled it as such using a re-fill pack). The fact the ink pad is clearly white as evidenced in the attached pictures, and hasn’t seen a drop of ink (until i refilled it) is avaricious behaviour on behalf of Canon.
I have already printed 3 full A4 pages with the refilled cartridge and will update as to how many i manage to obtain from the refill, as it will expose how much ink Canon are scamming people for with these under-filled containers.
update Jan 12th 2023:-
Manual refill has lasted 13 full colour pages so far, showing no sign of fade. Original lasted 3 pages.
14th Feb 2023:- after refilling manually i managed 23 full colour pgs before ink depleted fully.
The ink cartridge Sold in this order lasted for 3 Pages!!

This toner works very well, not surprising really as it’s the OEM part. My experience with replacement/non-OEM toners has not been good, so I look for the cheapest and easiest way to buy genuine OEM toners, which is generally via Amazon. I would give it 5 stars but as I find is generally the case with toners, the actual life of the cartridge seems to be significantly less than specified. Based on the paper consumption, I seem to be buying these things far more often than I should need to.

As printjet printers get older the once economic cartridges seem to rack up in costs as if they are a rarity to produce or if they are trying to get one to change to the latest models. Could downgrade to generic much cheaper ink but have always found the printer only lasts one round of cartridges and just fails. This purchase was a reasonable price compared to else where.

This ink arrived pronto; I was very pleased as I was running very low on ink with a deadline looming. These cartridges last far longer than the Epson ones did in my last printer and, at this price, they are half the price, so for me this is a true bargain. The ‘low ink button’ flashes for quite a while on the Pixma printer before running out of ink, so don’t just pop in the new cartridge when it arrives – wait till your old cartridge truly runs out. I was getting document after document whilst the light was flashing; I was pleasantly surprised. And the cartridge is super-easy to fit. Very pleased I changed to Canon – saving me a small fortune. The colour one doesn’t seem to last as long as the black ink, but at this price, that’s not an issue.
