Hoo boy, this thing’s been a headache, but we’ve finally come to some sort of an agreement after two weeks.
There’s no power switch and will start the moment you take it out into sunlight so make sure to keep it covered until you can get it positioned in water.
It needs to be out in the open, any amount of soft shadow from nearby trees will stop it.
The fountain attachments are pretty nice. They shoot high enough that it empties the bird bath in the breeze, so we no longer use the fountain caps and just leave it bubbling.
We also had issues with the suction caps coming unstuck. It would float to the surface and the breeze would push it to the edge and make it empty the bird bath even sooner. This was resolved by cutting the foam ring out from the underside so the buoyancy no longer fights the suction and it stays put.
We had a couple of days of high 30°C where it suddenly stopped working, figured it had cooked itself in the heat (instructions suggest operating below 45°C). Nope, turns out it doesn’t seem to work during heat and is back to functioning in more mild weather now.
So “it works” if you know what you’re getting yourself into. Value is good for now but time will tell.

We bought 3 for our large pond. We had to tie a sinker on them to hold them in place so the wind wouldn’t push them into a corner. I don’t think the solar stores the solar because as they hit the shade they stop working. They are ok for us I guess as we are aerating the water.

It is very temperamental and needs to be watched all the time. Slightest bit of debris and it stops working. Birds love it but they drop feathers and seeds and so it stops working

Good solar fountain works well in full sunlight. The solar panel is quite sensitive. It won’t work if it is slightly cloudy. I originally brought it for my frog pond however had to move it due to low levels of sunlight. I received my order very promptly even thought it was between Christmas and New Year period. Overall I’m happy with my purchase.
