Amazing cutting ability, the locking system is great, lock or unlock with one hand,i have used these for over a year and purchased a second pair as a present to my daughter who is a keen gardener.I used these to help remove 35 feet of pyracantha hedging which i then cut up to burn and they are still sharp,i am right handed and always wear a glove on my left hand for safety reasons,My other well known brand secateurs are nowhere near as good as these.

Very good quality steel, sharp and strong. Easy to operate.

After consulting numerous positive reviews, I decided for this pruner over the Felco-2 for a 20$ difference in price. It arrived directly from Japan in a little more than two weeks, well packaged and in good condition. The tool looked sturdy and the steel seemed of very good quality. Locking mechanism is well designed and the blade is sharp.
When I put it to use a few days later, I found that it fits comfortably in one’s hand and that it easily cuts green branches from one quarter of an inch in diameter and down (that was what I had to do that day). I made about 20 cuts. Now the blades loosened and wood splinters started to get caught in between. Using good wrenches, I unsucessfully tried to tighten the center bolt. I was left with a definite slack between the blades. I immediately reported the situation to the seller (Japan Subculture, on Amazon.ca) who responded within hours and contacted the manufacturer. They offered to have the pruner serviced by the manufacturer, at no shipping cost to me, or simply refund. I chose the refund and will buy Felco tomorrow.
Let’s just say a word about Japan made goods: we enjoy on the long run two cars, a 24 years old lawnmower, a large emergency generator and a big snowblower, all of them Hondas, a Kubota garden tractor and a Shindaiwa chainsaw. Guess those pruners were just bad luck…
UPDATE: I was immediately informed of the arrival of the returned item at the seller in Japan (Japan Subculture) and refund was quickly processed through Amazon.ca, including my shipping fees. Although the tool proved defective, those two businesses (Japan Subculture and Amazon.ca) provided outstanding customer service. ETHICAL AND EFFICIENT COMMERCIAL PRACTICE.
Many thanks.

I love the quality of these pruners. I read a review (not on Amazon) that these are at the top of the best pruners money can buy. It sure is once you hold them and use them to cut. I believe there are different sizes in case you have smaller hands. I suggest to check that in case it’s important to you.

After much research, I purchased two of these; one for me and one for my neighbour who is the gardening aficionado. We both love the sharpness and comfort of use. It even cuts through thicker branches than I would have imagined and I used it recently to trim a neighbour’s runaway hedge that encroaches on my yard. Love them!

unbeatable, leaves the rest for dead including felco, opening mechanism is solid and brilliant, does take a few cycles to get used to, makes felco owners jelous when their still fumbling to open theirs and im done and onto the next task, better finish than all others

perfect product for me
CrackerJack –
The best of the best. Just keeps on going. Extremely sharp and makes for precise cuts. Easy to clean and maintain. The one handed action to open the secateur is intuitive once you get used to it.
Plus the price tag drives the missus not leave it in the dirt during gardening!
