This is the very best stylus you can get for the iPad. And while the accessory is not needed to make good use of an iPad, it is still a nice-to-have addition, especially for the occasional note taking and sketch.
The main downside is that the apple pencil is very expensive. It is different compared to writing on normal paper (which I still prefer most of the time), so it really depends on how much use you get from it and whether you find it value for money.

Using on iPad Mini 6th gen. Still mastering all the shortcuts (which there are many!). Nib feels good on the textured screen protector. Pen feels ergonomic to hold. The down side is that the pen is an expensive accessory. If I were on a tight income I’d consider other options.

If you want to forgo the Apple Tax buy the much cheaper – Logitech Crayon – also sold by Apple.
Also if you do buy a Pencil, get your name engraved on it. Easy to lose in a sea of other Pencils if that is the world you live in.

Better than expected. I have a Logitech crayon and this Apple Pencil.
I find the Logitech crayon a bit too big for my hands. The Apple Pencil is much more comfy to write with. It’s also a lot more convenient to use. Worth the price upgrade.

Item was very nicely packed in a box, properly protected. Pencil itself is really sleek looking and work out of the box easily. IPad able to connect to it hassle free.
